Co-owners Jared and Daisy have always had a dream of owning and operating their own sailing yacht. In 2019 they jointly purchased the Anne Bonny and spent a year restoring her to her former splendour. She has been operational for charter ever since and remains a favorite amongst tourists and BVI residents alike.
Daisy was born in the England where she spent her early childhood and youth sailing dinghies and keelboats on the rivers near her home town. In her early twenties on holiday in Greece she made the snap decision to ask for a job. Ten years later she was still working on boats having travelled the world on yachts and motorboats of all shapes and sizes. Eventually at some point all sailors wind up in the BVI. Daisy too fell in love with the small town easy going vibe of the Islands, and decided it would be a great place to stay…
Born in the Cape Durban, South Africa, Jared spent much of his youth living the coastal life and working with his father in boat and house renovations. Seeking adventure in 2015 Jared undertook a year of training at Sodwana Bay academy where he achieved his PADI dive instructor certification. Shortly after he scored his first job in the BVI working at a commercial dive shop, learning everything about the island waters, above and below the sea.
Three years later Jared gained his RYA Yacht Master certificate. He is now one of our Captains on Anne Bonny.
Booty is a sweet BVI island rescue, adopted in 2019 as a tiny pup. Since then, she has been a loyal member of the Anne Bonny crew, bringing smiles (and the occasional bark) to every charter.
She loves greeting guests, barking at passing boats, chasing seagulls, and “helping” with the fishing — and yes, she’s been known to sneak the occasional hotdog!
Not a dog person or have allergies? No problem at all! Just let us know when you book and Booty will happily take a land day so you can enjoy your sail in complete comfort.
In January 2022 Natalie joined the crew. Formally bar manager at one of the most iconic restaurants in Tortola Natalie has hung up her apron and polishing cloth to become First Mate on the Anne Bonny. Amongst her numerous skills are master painkiller mixer, host extraordinaire and Anne Bonny the Pirate lookalike.
